Why Do People Care About Susan Boyle?

April 20th, 2009

For last three days, everyone is talking about Susan Boyle, from yahoo.com to TV news channels, from twitter to you tube..why?
Because of one and only reason, people are enthralled by the unexpected performance by a simple looking lady. No one expected her to be such a good singer, no one expected her to get selected (they did not even expected her to get an audition)
Another interesting thing..Have you noticed that British actors/actresses look more like real people, while in the US they are all “beautiful people”. According to Boston Globe, a Jesuit priest said: “The way we see Susan Boyle is very nearly the way God sees us: worthwhile, special, talented, unique, beautiful.” It is interesting that in Britain anyone can audition, which means people like Susan can be discovered, while here we have American Idol which seems to have a very narrow focus and presupposes that talent comes in only certain packaging.
I think Susan Boyle is far from ugly. What is striking about her face is the love shining out. So simply stated…Susan Boyle and the Susan Boyle experience will stop people in their tracts…but only for a few minutes…they will take pause regarding the cynicism…but it will never curtail it. Mostly because it is so ingrained in most every human brain….we are creatures that know some change is always good if not very necessary. But we, for the most part, are not willing to do the work it requires to accomplish that.
Also how did Susan became so famous in such a short time. Can anyone could have down this even five years back. Most probably not. Then why she became so successful overnight.. due to tweeters, blogs like this, you tube, and headline news in yahoo.com It is much easier to become famous, if you can give people something unexpected
People care about Susan because she is very simple, did something which surprised people and did it when media options were the highest
